1740 – The Story of Anna

Anna was never an ordinary woman. Raised among princes, princesses, and Portuguese nobles, she was trained as a courtly lady by her mother and as a soldier by her father. But when she secretly married a regent, she never suspected that she would find herself and true love far from home, with another heir.

1746 – The Story of Sophie

Sophie is delicate and intelligent but struggles with the expectations of Her Majesty, her mother. As Anna's protégé, she learns to discover what she truly wants for herself. However, when that happens, an accident causes her to forget everything, even though she finds love. Now, Sophie doesn't know which life she wants to return to. She is an important character in the novel Anna, who reemerges with her own journey, a few years later.

1862 - The story of Carolina

Carolina Albuquerque is the Baroness of Cedral, a young and wealthy widow who sees no reason to remarry unless it's due to overwhelming love. 1878 - The Story of Clarice

Clarice is a young bourgeois woman who is forced by her father into a marriage of convenience after her sister brought disgrace upon the family name. The groom, the young nobleman Nuno, is impoverished but is convinced by his father, the Marquis of Valença, to accept the wealthy young woman. Little do they both imagine that they would fall truly in love, making the marriage even more challenging.

1885 - The Story of Laura

Laura is an excellent musician who has no intention of getting married, especially not to a man who does not respect her as the independent woman she is. Tiago, a character born in Clarice's story, is definitely not that man, until he finds himself completely in love. Amidst the backdrop of São Paulo's history, where the protagonists' story unfolds, we encounter characters from the previous book, such as Clarice, Nuno, and Melissa.
